Symbol Creation

  • GateRocket provides a new, Device Native approach for the design engineer to validate their FPGA design.  This method is powered by the speed of hardware, the accuracy of the true chip behavior and the unbounded flexibility of their simulation environment.  An EDA first, RocketDrive offers the ability to exhaustively validate and test an FPGA design before committing to production, enabling shorter product development times, higher product quality and improved performance to meet or exceed the requirements of today’s demanding marketplace. GateRocket’s software allows the verification engineer to place any portions of the FPGA design into the RocketDrive and integrate it to their existing simulation platform.  This allows the FPGA to be used natively to (1) speed verification by replacing FPGA models with actual hardware; (2) investigate hardware bugs and test alternatives; and (3) run application level software against a Device Native representation of the design.

Signal Integrity
 

  • Mentor Graphics' HyperLynx LineSim and BoardSim products can be used in virtually any design flow and can eliminate signal integrity and crosstalk problems early.  With both pre and post-layout analysis you can identify and resolve signal integrity problems before costly layout, prototyping, test cycles and volume production.  EMC add-ons provide you with an early look at likely EMC failures, including both radiation and trace current analysis.

 


Thermal Analysis

  • HyperLynx Thermal (formerly BETAsoft) is now a part of the Mentor Graphics family of analysis tools and a new addition to the HyperLynx products.  HyperLynx Thermal is used to analyze the thermal behavior of electronic boards and components while they are still in the design stage, eliminating timely prototype redesign. 



PCB Layout and MCM DesignTools

  • PADS® Layout from Mentor Graphics provides you with everything you need to complete your toughest designs simply and quickly in a flexible design environment.  With the addition of the PADS Router (auto/interactive) and PADS AutoRouter capabilities, you have a shape-based, any-angle, gridless architecture with intelligent place and route controls.  High-Speed options enable control for rule sets governing differential pairs, matched-length and min/max length nets.   PADS® Layout now includes tools for RF component creation and free database translators for OrCAD, Protel, CADStar and P-CAD.

  • For users who work with bare-die components such as single- and few-chip modules and chip-on-board, the Advanced Packaging Toolkit and Chip-on-Board Toolkit can significantly reduce package design time.

CAM Tools

  • CAM350 from DownStream Technologies is a powerful solution easing the transition of engineering data into physical PCBs.  CAM350 is integrated into a variety of PCB layout packages with DIRECTCAD read/write available to PADS® Layout and others. CAM350 also has Design for Manufacturing checks that rival the features in other systems, but at a more affordable cost.  It comes in a variety of packages designed for everything from just viewing your manufacturing files (Gerber data) to performing the most complex tasks at a manufacturing facility.




Interfacing

  • PCBNavigator from Precience provides complete bi-directional integration between OrCAD Capture(CIS) and target PCB systems (Mentor Graphics PADS® Layout etc.).  Design rule constraint spreadsheet allows rule passing for Nets, Components and Board. Cross-probe between Capture and target PCB editors.  PCB ECO changes (Pin/Gate Swap, Refdes, Rules etc.) can be easily read into OrCAD through automatic Swap file generation.   Automatically checks and reports items that can be ECO back to the design.

 

  • With the acquisition of Router Solutions, Inc., Mentor Graphics now offers complete data preparation for PCB manufacturing with CAMCAD products.  From Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis through BOM comparisons, PCB and netlist translators, Paperless Repair Systems and Factory optimization, the CAMCAD products are now available through the Mentor Graphics sales representatives.

  • PartMiner is now offering CAPS Connect, a unique application targeted at the electronic supply chain industry for optimizing and analyzing product Bill of Materials (BOMs), AVLs and internal parts lists.   • OmniBOM from Omnify provides an effective tool to create, modify and manage Bills of Materials and variants, including the ability to transfer your BOM information into your MRP/ERP.

  • AutoVue from Oracle, provides you with viewing, markup and collaboration solutions that supports hundreds of native formats:  3D CAD parts and assemblies, 2D CAD drawings, PCB/IC layouts and schematics, scanned and raster documents, vector files, office documents and graphics.

                     


Documentation

  • BluePrint from DownStream Technologies is a dynamic new solution, developed in the style of Microsoft Office that quickly creates electronic drawings to drive PCB fabrication and assembly. BluePrint “knows” it is creating a PCB document and imports PCB CAD data to automatically create and intelligently link PCB Views, details, document notes, external documents, URLs and multi-media content. The result is an electronic document which better articulates the instructions for successful fabrication, assembly and inspection of printed circuit boards and which contains all the data necessary to build, view and archive the final product.
